A sunny weekend!

I hope this weekend was just the beginning of more sunny weekends at the cottage. Weather really makes a big difference. We took in way too much sun. Baby Aurora enjoyed all the fresh air and her freedom on the enclosed deck. Here she is in the kids cottage, preparing a yummy mucky treat for Grampie.

Aurora and her mama are admiring the little red bush roses that are coming out now on the plant that Julie and Sean gave me last month. It has a ton of little buds on it and I hope they don't all flower this week while we're in town. My other plants are all coming along nicely too. My sister would have been proud of me. I weeded twice this weekend. Each time, the bugs got bad but just with that little effort, the gardens look a lot better.

Your new Hostas doing OK? No slugs yet? It's been so dry, we really need rain, but dry weather is good for deterring the slugs. I haven't had to spread any Slug Bait yet. That would probably be because I have three boxes waiting to use.. found some on sale so stocked up...
I'd like to visit your cottage this summer..

Glad to see the "easy roses" made it in the ground! :-) I got my veggie garden planted this weekend (With help from the girls, of course. Sophie welcomed each plant and told them that they would "like it here"). I got my front gardens dug out and some new plants in. My should are seriously burnt and I have black fly bites EVERYWHERE. It all looks good, though. Hopefully, I'll get lots of tomatoes, shallots, and jalapenos. Salsa, perhaps?? :-)

Um.. that julie has a lot to say. Too bad she couldn't change up what she did say to say something different!
I love weeding... sick... not sure why. all my plants are planted! now its weeding and deadheading!
I use crushed egg shells around the bottom of my hostas and those nasty snot slugs don't go across the egg shells to get to the hostas.
